My Snowflake Moray Is No More :(

morning everyone,

i came down this morning to find my snowflake moray eel dead on the floor.
it must have escaped the tank overnight and then my cat has had a go at it
im so gutted, and sad

That happen to me twice the first time my gf was there to put him back in the tank! The second time happened when i was sleeping woke up next morning found him lying dead on the floor. Stupid Eel

yeah im well ****** off about it!
why would a creature that lives in water decide being out of water is better??

i have been offered another, but im not going to for now.
gonna conetrate on getting it all setup properly and the rocks how i want them before adding any more fish to it

for any eel you must have a heavy lid covering the whole tank top, otherwise it will get out

its a gap about an inch wide. its the corner gap where the extrernal filter tubes go out, so the space is mostly taken up anyways

it sucks

I have had the same thing happen twice. My tanks are normally covered in eggcrate. Lost one clown fish which managed to jump through a 1inch gap on the side of the eggcrate and a wrasse that jumped through a TINY gap between the eggcrate and return pipe from the sump.
