My Snails Are On The Gravel, And Not Moving

I have some Ramshorn snails. 3 of them. They have been fine really, boring though. They just sit on the glass and move every other day. Well about 3 days ago I saw two on the subtrate and they haven't moved since then. I thought they were dead till one of my fish touched it and it closed its shell up and then came out a little. I don't know what to do they are just laying there. I know if they come out of there shells they are dead. I wonder are they about to die and if they are why. water state are fine. I haven't done anything new other than add an air stone and bubble wand to the tank and I did that for them. I have place algea wafers in the water for them although I have never seen them eat it. The tank was brand new when I brought them so I wonder if they just weren't getting enough to eat. I have had them for more than a month so I wonder what id going on. Are they starving to death. I see some algea growing on the decor in the tank but not on the glass.
