I added a couple of corys to my tank a couple of days ago, only started with a couple since I wasn't 100% sure about them, they're not the prettiest of fish, but i'd heard they have great personalities.

after a few days. I'm definately going to up the number of them to 10. I have some nice colourful guppies, but something about the corys draws my eye to them every time! They're just so fascinating to watch.

Any ideas what I can get them as a treat? They seem happy taking flakes off the bottom that the others miss, but it'd be nice to know what I could treat them with.

bloodworms!!! defrost a cube of blood worms then add it to the tank - once it reaches the bottom you will see them come running and start slurping it up like spaghetti!!! very cute to watch!

cheers, will see what the shop has tomo. I still can't figure out why they're so appealing. but they are.

and I didn't get them as algae eaters, since I heard they weren't that great at it,or at least not much better than guppies. But since adding them the green hairy algae that had started appearing on my bogwood has comepletely gone.

Congrats on your corys, skunks are fab and have 6 of the little beauts,so active :)

My skunks also adore tetra prima mini granules and love the small sinking algae wafers :)

now I have them, I'm thinking about changing the substrate, I'm sure it'll be fine, since It's smooth stuff, but if they prefer sand then I may have to change it at some point.

Still need to get to the shop for them. So thankfully your other suggestions didn't come too late :)
cheers.

now I just need to wait for a bit before I get some more of them (I don't like adding too much to the tank at once)

I've noticed with my skunks more so than the other cories that they filter the sand through their gills, its very amusing to watch :)

Thats the main reason i changed to sand, because of the cories :)
