My sick fish

I just got a betta fish two days ago. He was fine when I bought him but I did my first water change today and I noticed his fin looks like the end is dark and kind of flakeing off. Is this fin rot I'm not real shure what it looks like ? If it is can it go away just by keeping the water clean?

Maybe try a little Melafix, its good for bacterial infections. Also, yes, water changes are good-clean water really helps.

Make sure it's dechlorinated tap water or filtered water too.

Hi there! Be sure to introduce yourself in the newbie section.
Your betta may have finrot - very clean water will to lots to help him. You can try a search here in the forum for lots of ideas of how folks heal their bettas that have this.

Thanks for your help I will keep you posted on if that helps or not. I have read alot on the newbie section but they don't have any thing I have seen about fin rot. They do have alot of good info though Thanks again

Just so you know my betta is doing great the dark parts have all fallen off. His tail is already starting to grow back. Thank you so much for your help
