well...

2 of my bettas are extremely sick..

heres the story behind this one..

got it from bcbettas.. a turquoise hm.. been sick since the day i got him (8 months ago about)... i dont know how ive kept him alive this long.. hes had tail rot numerous times.. hasnt been able to swim since i got him.. just lies around the bottom of the tank.. last night i noticed some 'pineconing' around his stomach area, so i put in some meds, and it his scales have seemed to go down a bit, but he still isnt looking good.. this is him today.. this is pretty much all hes done since i got him... either lie on the bottom , or sit around upright.. i know its not a pretty thing to show, but i thought id share it.. im kinda scared to do water changes right now.. i think if i change some of it, he will get stressed and die.. tomorrow im gonna suck out the crap from the bottom, and add a little bit of water.. but hes so weak im tryin not to do anything too dramatic.. he eats occassionally

this poor little veil has HORRID tail rot.. i noticed a little bit of his tail was gone yesterday, so i treated him.. today, his whole tail is gone pretty much.. i put in TONS of meds... the only way i feel i can save him is if i keep the rot to his tail.. if it gets on his body he is screwed.. so i put in a bunch of meds... he is doing alright.. swims around occassionally, tons of salt in there too... gave him a water change today and added fresh meds.. this is the first yellow i bought, very nasty fish, hates everything and everyone... stole him from some little girl :S... she planned on getting him, put him down to go look at something else, and i nabbed him lol..
its tough to say if hes gonna survive.. if i can keep it to his tail, i think he might be ok.. but i think hes starting to get some fungus on the last bit of his tail.. im trying hard, and hopefully he will be ok.. still eating

wish them luck

Good luck little guys!! I've lost a couple of bettas to finrot before, despite trying every medication in the book and daily water changes, so I know how frustrating it is when you get a tough case... Hope everything works out.

the yellow one was fine like 3 days ago.. i noticed a little red on its bottom fin... that alerted me... i put in meds... the next day i little bit of his fins were gone.. so i put in more meds... yesterday some more gone.. put in MORE meds..

today i did a full water change and gave him meds... but he really doesnt have any tail left... after seeing the pics you posted, it kinda disappoints me that he looks like this now :S

Wow, that sounds like some fast-acting demon finrot! I recently lost Nikolai to something like that.
One day he had a little tear in his anal fin... I treated him, and the next day his tail was half gone!
More medication, and the following day he had red sores on his body where the infection had spread. The day after that he was gone. Didn't even have a chance.
I'm beginning to think that some of the bettas I've bought are more prone to infection than others, because Nikolai had gotten finrot on two prior occasions, but it was only pinholes those times and easily cured...

the turquoise hm was trouble since the day i got him..

im wondering if bcbettas knew.. cause there were like 10 of them and SHE picked the one i was getting.. never was active... ive been thinking of just killing him.. i donno if hes happy.. sure doesnt look like it.. its hard to say tho.. i will give him a day or two and see what happens

Awww, those pictures are so sad :-( Good luck little guys! Yeah it must be hard to decide to euthanize or keep holding on.... like you said, if they're suffering then I guess it would be better... but I have my fingers crossed!! May everything turn out for the best...

the yellow guy ate like 5 betta bites... the greeny tried to eat a couple... but when they floated to the bottom, he couldnt turn around to get them... im gonna try again before i go to bed..

maybe if he eats a couple, he will start doing better..

im happy the yellow is eating.. i wont euthanize him ever... hes definately a fighter..

im just starting to feel sorry for the greeny..

but ive been tryin

leck, why would you say bcbetta knew?. She has thousands of fish, why would she be so concerned about selling a fish she knew was sick. Thats not right to insinuate she sold you a sick fish intentionally. She would give you 10 fish before selling you one that was sick. She sells alot of fish, so she will not jeapordize her good name by intentially doing anything wrong. Not to mention she is a very nice lady.

Well maybe there sick cause the small little cups they live in?

How many waterchanges do u make?

The so call HM his cup looks very filty.. :/

Whats the excuse know?
