well I was going to use my 26g tank but I didn have enough space and frankly I like to be able to walk in my bedroom so I went with the 10g
money is a little bit of an issue as Im only 13 but Im getting a job at a coffee shop and until then I work on the weekends
but time is definatly not an issue so I think I will be able to handle such a small tank
and I am taking it very slowly and Ive been reading up since febuary!
so here is what I got

Equipment:powerhead 270gp
HOB filter
100w heater
13w light will be uped further on

I plan on getting the rest of my stuff within the next two wees like my
salt
hydrometer
sand
test kit
and LR

if you want to save money go to the beach and grab some sand, rock and water from there. You can sieve the beach sand and keep the courser sand and fine shell for the bottom of the tank. Grab a couple of rocks from the water and fill up some water containers with salt water. Take it home and set the tank up.
As long as the water is free from pollution you won't have a problem.
Make sure you don't collect any rocks or shell from a marine park. The authorities get upset when you do that.

well I was thinking of the sand part but the rocks around where I live are only sandstone and are red but I spend lots of time at the beach as I have a couple cttages there so that sounds good and could I make base rock out of cement in buckets with pipes in it to make holes?
all coments are appreciated

I just use limestone rocks from the beach and drill holes in them. Then use plastic dowels to stop them moving too much in the tank.

all sounds good...just one point regarding the heater. Be careful with the temperature as the heater may heat up your tank a lil too much as our tank holds 45 litres approx and the heater does up to 100 litres...+ the lighting will heat the water too...so just see how the temp fluctuates etc :good:
