Here we go folks, Pics of my 240 which is cycling at the minute before becoming a community for peaceful fish inc livebearers, rasboras etc.

Plants are live, on the left is mossballs and Echinodorus schelteri or something..on the right is something i dont know but i think its gonna grow in this tank. Im also after some java moss and maybe a hygrophilia of some sort. Did have 2 more live plants in there but they were the needley type that fell apart over the last 7 days and there are still bits of it strewn over my bogwood and on the moss..its horrible fibre like stuff..

2 terracotta pots,1 twin slate cave thing and 1 artificial rock cave.

3d background, Sand substrate,TT EX1200 filter, superfish heater tank is gonna be kept at 24-25 degrees.

Opinions more than welcome, updates coming when cycle is over or more decs are added, tank has some tannins affecting water colour

looks good mate, you got the same backing as i have<however its out the tank at moment>make sure you have syliconed it correctly into place as even though mine was one spot came away and created a gap and a couple of fish got wedged behind it, so pulling it away to let them free i had to rip it all off, cannot be bothered to empty tank/dry tank and stick again so its off, it does look stunning when its in place however.....

Got fish today as im impatient, fishless cycle had been going 11 days so some bacteria are present, hopefully enough to deal with the 6 or so inches of fish i now have..Ill be testing for ammonia constantly and doing 60% changes if it (amm and nitrite, got an API master so tests are accurate) reaches over .25 but i think we may be fine..done 2 hefty water changes to get rid of the cycling ammonia so its currently all good.

Fish added are 1 male swordtail,1 female swordtail, and 2 female platies..pics to follow

Found out some very bad news while questioning my LFS about mature media when the 4 fish i have were creating ammonia that isnt being dealt with. The PH of the water round here is well over 8.it is made low from the tap using CO2 which gases off after 48 hours making the PH go through the roof
