EDIT: Spelling.

Hey i bought a male
just two days ago!

I'd definately stay away from
the corys, due to fin nipping ect
And i think the bristlenose is a bit too
much IMO and not needed if your gonna have
that many ottos :good:
I just asked over at the puffer forum
and they said its best to add 2 females
BUT my 20G is too small for this so,
your 15 would be aswell

Good luck anyway :good:

Just fed mine muscle and you can hear
him eating through the glass lol

I'd advise against a 3rd puffer,
It's not the filtration thats the issue,
it's the fact that the male will
chase the female most of the time
and with 2 in there its gonna be alot
harder for them to get away!

I'd risk it with a single female
as long as you HEAVILY decorate the
tank, to give some places of refuge
for her.

It's just like Dp's, Try and break as many
eyelines as possible, anyways good luck :good:

You do know that a 15gallon tank isnt large enough for 2 Carinotetraodon irrubesco Puffers.

You would sensibly house 1 of those in that tank, giving them space to move about and also being able to maintain the water. Puffers are seriously messy fish which require pristene water. Cramming 2 into that tank would be asking for problems imo.

Also there is no guarentee that your Puffer should you get one tolerate other fish in the tank. I know my Salivator definately doesnt. I tried an experiment with a BN Plec in a transparent container floaating in the tank. Ive never seen my Puff get as mad as he was, practically trying to eat through the container to get to the Plec. Something to think about prior to having shredded Plecs and Cory in with a Puff.

Depends what you want,

There are a few small active Puffers, Dwarf Puffers (Fresh), Salivators (fresh), Figure8's (Brackish). If you want more than one Puffer then id suggest Dwarf Puffers. If you just want an active Puffer then Figure 8's are great, but again you would only get one in that tank.

check out The Puffer Forum for more Puffer options.

Everyone i have aked hav sad lotsof plants will break them up and my lfs has about 10 Carinotetraodon irrubesco and they said take a male and female andif it doesnt work swap the male for a female and if it doesnt work just bring on back. So im going to Try 2 Carinotetraodon irrubesco Male and Female and if it doesnt work ill swap the male for the female and if that doesnt work with 2 females ill have 1 female. i will have a heavily planted tank with some fake mangrove roots.

Why post with questions if you are going to ignore everything that has been said!

If you are set on getting that particualr Puffer then get 1 no more. Even then you are pushing it in that tank.

Why - why even ask and then TELL us that you're going to go against what was said?

Obviously if 20 was too small for 2, 15 will be. Stick to a single female. Accidents and fights are bad. Here's a perfect example

I have a heaviyl planted 25. Heavy as in jungle. it sort of blocks it up, and when rearranged it confuses everything. but withing two days there are terrirtories. And the Bolivian ram and the True flying fox fight each other. A lot. nothing to cause injury. but I'm sure it's stressful. Until the fox is big enough, I can;t put him in the 38.

In other word. Problems will arise should you nopt listen. taking back is bad. you just put that fish from one system, into another, then back into another system that is completely different to it once it adjusted to yours. that's an hour away. And then you plan to do that to possibly two fish? Just do one female until you can provide a suitable tank.

People seem to think you can keep puffers in tanks as you would do with community fish, by perhaps using the inch per gallon rule. You can't puffers, and I mean all puffers, are really specialist fish, they require suitably sized aquaria and in your case, onlyy one is possible, if you want more fish, then I'm afraid puffers aren't for you.
