My Ram

Is my ram a male or female? I think their was a topic on this not too long ago but i dont know how to distinguish them.

It looks very much like a male.

if it's a female it's belly may become a pink.

It would be good if you can get a picture when it's standing it's dorsal fin up.

I believe that it's a male, but I've found that the tell tale sign, besides the pinkish belly during breeding, is the back of the dorsal fin, near the tale. If it comes to almost a point then it's male, if it is more rounded then it's a female. The other ways to tell are the pinkish belly on females during breeding, and the "Spike" on the front of the dorsal fin is taller on males.

And, males will have a solid black spot on their side, while females have blue sparkles inside/on the black spot.

Id have to disagree and say it was a female, its does has vblue fkecks within teh large black spot and also has a relatively short anal fin, males have longer

id say its a female, its top fin is not pointy and longer at the front
