love the look of your tank... are they cory's??? was originally thinking ( before I clicked your thread ) that they were pigmy cory's... I love corys, but none of the varieties I have ( agassizi, albino, black, & Sterba's ), have schooled to that level before ( but I don't have pigmy's yet) ... I usually buy groups of 3... but my blacks, I bought 5, & all, while highly active, none have schooled like that...

looks like a rumble from the musical West Side Story

Thank you and yeah, they're Pygmy Corys. I love them. I have peppered corys in groups of 7 and they never are as coordinated as these little guys.

I've got a thread on this forum about Lucky Bamboo, & I use it in several forms in most of my tanks... yours look good & healthy, can you tell me more about it???

I had them in a backyard pond. My mom was given some as a gift and I took clippings and propagated. The plant is built to withstand flooding territories so it still grew but it was considerably slower than the plants in the house that weren't fully submerged. Once they reached a certain height, I stuck them in my 55g tank's hob for more growth. I keep the majority of the leaves out of the water. Its just sand substrate with liquid and tab ferts. No co2 or anything.

Thank You... mine are all fully submerged... I'm kind of waiting to see... on a couple that grew to the top of my 45 ( tall ), & I had to thin them out to be able to service the tank, & I placed those into a shorter than the 45, 55 gallon... waiting to see if they will grow out of the water... I have space available above this tank for a couple feet to the lights, just in case they decide to crawl out of the water...

yours is new info... would you mind if I copy these couple posts & paste them in my bamboo thread??? or you would be welcome to post there yourself...

a link to that thread...

You need bigger groups of single species

Sure, I don't mind. Mine is just me testing my limits with current knowledge to learn more. I did the same with raising peppered corys. The 18 I hatched out just turned a year old.

Pygmy corys are so much fun to watch. I like it when they sit on a leaf or something and chill. Or when they school with the other fish in the aquarium.
I have some that turned very shy. They would rarely come out during the day. I would see them at night by watching the tank with a night vision webcam. So I got a few more. The new ones were in a quarantine tank right by my gaming chair. So they got use to my presence. They were a lot more out and active in quarantine than the originals. I just added the new ones to my main tank. It could go one of two ways. The new corys act as a dither and encourage the old ones to be less shy. Or the new guys settle in with the old ones and hide all day. So far it looks like the new ones are still out in the open and a couple of the old ones are following them. It's early though so I'm hoping for the best.
