I have a 90 l tank that's been set up for around 5 months with consistently good parameters.0 nitrate, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite.
Anyway I've had some platties for about 2 fibres no and I'm pretty sure one of my females has dropsy. She's quite a slim shaped platy so it started with me thinking she was pregnant as she was looking a bit bloated - not massively like some photos I've seen though but still bloated. Then when I fed them, I noticed that from above her scales were pineconed. Then I thought dropsy.
It's been about 4 days now and her eyes are looking a little bit bulged. Mostly she's still swimming and eating normally, but sometimes especially once the lights off, I see her sat virtually on the bottom in the back corner.
What shall I do?
I hear that by the time a fish shows these symptoms, its too late. Some pages I've read recommend euthanasia . If its the kindest thing I guess I should buy some clove oil .
