Normaly everything is peacful in my tank........until today i went over to see why all my clown barbs were in the corner of the tank.....And then i saw why they were all attacking my guppie the poor fishy.....so what i done was i got my 5 gal tank took some gravel and water from the tank and put him in there.....and now i have noticed that my 2 female guppies have had there tail nipped......why have they decided to start on the guppies??it was such a peacful tank now it is in mayhem Can i add salt to the tank with guppies he has virtually no tailand i'm worried about finrot......
Hi caz. Sorry about your guppies . I am not actually familiar with clown barbs. Have they been in the same tank with your guppies for long? I find that guppies' lure-like tails are hard for any passing fish to resist, including fellow guppies. At any rate, do add some salt for your ailing guppy. Guppies are extremely tolerant of salt and it is the best thing, imo, for promotion of healing. I'd put 2.5 tsp of salt in with him today and add another 2.5 tomorrow, so you have a tsp of salt per gallon of water. Just make sure you dissolve the salt in tank water before adding it.
Thanks, they have been together a couple of mons....but they are starting on myangels....i think i will take them to my lfs they should have them ( i hope)....can't believe how they have turned
