My Black Skirt Tetra found himself some trouble. He decided to hang around my betta, Sneak, and see how long it would take the betta to eat his fins. It only took 5 minutes. Now a little bit of his fin is gone. Will it grow back??? Do I have to do anything??? He is acting the same.

Fins tend to regenerate quite readily so long as it isn't down to the body of the fish and you have good water quality

Keep an eye out for any secondry infection....

:)

This will probably continue to happen until your tetra gets sick or to stressed and dies. As i stated before you have to many fish in that little tank. The betta is territorial and with a small area, the whole tank is his domain.

Ooops didn't notice that -_-

impur's right.....

...be surprised if the gourami didn't get some attention from the betta also :/

:)

My black skirt tetra got it's fins bite into when he was taken out of the bag and into the tank. The gourami and betta are like best friends. Now the betta gets along with the black skirt tetra, but the black skirt tetra's fins don't seem to be growing back fast. It looks like they've grown back a little though, now that I've looked at it. All my fish get along.

I guess you have a very aggressive Betta with a bad temper. I have a betta with my black skirt tetra and they all live like one big happy family. :D

Is he ok now?
