went missing for some time - I saw him last night but couldn't see him when I fed them this evening. I searched everywhere and eventually found him stuck behind a power head - still just alive :( Well, since I released him about half an hour ago, he's been resting against the intake flow of the filter. Just sort of stuck to the slats (I have an integrated filter in a juwel tank) He's lost a couple of scales and he seems very sorry for himself. Should I add something to the water. The only thing I have available is liquasil tonic. :(

you are much better at this stuff than me but if I were you I would put him in betta max it works great for bettas if you havent tried it I would recommend that for anyone who has bettas it seems to do wonders for them that is all people around here in Ky uses I have only lost one betta and he didnt even belong to me and he was in to poor health for me to nurse I had only got him a couples of days early I could have saved him.

That's terrible gadazobe
I'd be worried too, maybe he'll bounce back without you having to treat , but I don't know anything really, and I certainly hope that he doesn't get an infection of any kind, maybe he just needs some time to recover from his traumatic experience :/
I hope everything turns out ok for you guys

It seems that sometimes after shock, fish will want to lose the ability to swim, much the same reaction, as we would stop moving if we were in shock. Naturally, he will move towards the pump intake as the current will pull him

Hopefully he is just stunned or tired from trying to escape and will be recovering slowly but surely

Latest update - he's swimming around and seems ok now. Still got a big white patch near his eye where he lost the scales, but hopefully, he'll make a full recovery. :)

glad to hear that!! bettas are such tough cookies
I love that about them

Ok WUV I gotta know where do you get these "tough little cookies"????????

I would love to have another betta but am afraid to go out and spend more money on them as no matter how well I keep the water conditions and baby them with their own "betta" products, they just keep dying on me.
