My Plec Has Gone Orange ?!?!?!?!

Hi all,

Hope your all well.

Is this normal? My Plec is going orange. :hyper: (I know pic isnt too good)

He is happy....eating and acting as normal, however he is slowly turning orange.

Ive added pics and would appreciate any help

are you sure he has not been sleeping on the heater as they tend to do that and burn them selves way to get around that is have it vertical

could be many things but untill we get clearer pic its hard to tel

Yeah your could be right, he does tend to suck on the glass behind it...

I feel bad now

summit you dnt think of if i had chance atm i would strap a heater to me back if i had chance 2

he will be alright shouldnt take long to heal

mine does that occasionaly then chanhes back to black/grey in just a few minutes....it puzzles me too ! :crazy:
 
Most recommend these for Oscar tanks, but I use the Visitherm stealth heaters, particularly with plecos. They are a plastic covered heater, which tends to be a bit easier on the tank and the plecos. ;) I, personally, don't like touching the glass heaters, since they get warmer on the glass, but the plastic ones don't.

Or you could just make (or buy) a heater guard for very cheap instead of buying one just for that reason. Just a thought :good:
