Back in February, I bought my first betta who turned out to be an extremely finicky eater. Until I joined this forum towards the end of May, I had never seen this fish eat. He would take the pellets and spit them back out. A few months ago, i began feeding him bloodworms and peas, and he began to thrive. Occasionally, I would slip him a pellet as I was making my rounds, and i would get the look. If you have ever pissed off a betta, you know what I am talking about.
Well yesterday, I finally got my divided tank set up. As the picky guy sat there watching me feed the others pellets, and he started begging. I figured instead of letting him sit and beg, I would give him one to remind him how much he hated them. To my shock, HE ATE IT!!!!!! So I gave him another, and then another. He ate four pellets!!! I guess he had to copy his neighbors. I'm curious to see what will happen come sunday when I feed him again (going out of town this weekend).
Good news is, I no longer have to deal with blood worms or peas on a daily basis.
