I asked a manager if they will match internet prices. She said they will only match PetSmart.com.

That is awesome! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

I needed a filter for a new 10g I just bought.
I decided on an Aquaclear over a Penguin, printed the price page at home, and off I went.

I bought an AquaClear 200.

Store price: $33.99

petsmart.com price: $16.99

Quite a difference. I'm a happy camper right now. :D

And I know the Aquaclear 200 is overkill for a 10g, but I can reduce the flowrate and it was only $1.00 more than the 100. It also could work on my 29g if need be. I couldn't pass on the deal. :shifty:

When you do this, I advise coming with a printed copy of the internet price in hand, and going directly to a manager. Most of the non-management employees are not aware of internet price matching.

Good luck. :)

Hm. What does that site have?

How many times have you tried?

Was it the manager's policy, the store's policy, or the chain's policy?

Is it just for equipment or everything (provided the site sells stock). How, if at all, is that site related to Petsmart? Or better yet, I'll check it out.

Thanks.

Wait, catfish is going to Walmart? From what I read it said they only match prices from that site...

I don't know anything about Walmart. :dunno:

For PetSmart, go here:

http://www.petsmart.com/ps/main.jsp

I've done it twice. Different managers each time. The cashier will need to call the manager to the register for the adjustment.

You can do it for all your hardware, food, decorations, anything on the website. :)

I wish I would have known this last October when I got my dog. :/

Alright. Thanks. Now to find something that I would actually want from petsmart. Maybe I'll save some money on my light...

Thanks again.

I have alsodone that at petsmart.
My emperor 400's were 39.99 on sale on the net.
In the store 84.99.
Printed page , brought it in walked with 2 for my 75 gallon for the price of 1! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

That's my next purchase, for a 28g bow. :)

EDIT: The best deals are definately on larger filters.

Why is it that the store costs more than the website?

And, to make sure, it's only that one site, right? They don't match the prices of other lfs or any website save pestmart.com? Sorry for asking a question after the answer was already provided. Just don't want to look the fool when I try to do this.

Yeah, I'm replacing my Whisper 40 filter for a BioWheel. I opted for the 170 model and found it on Petsmart.com for $20.99 (US, of course) and the store has it listed for $32.99. Not sure why the difference is so much, but *shrug*. I called the store on it and found out that as long as you print out the ad from Petsmart.com showing how much the item is listed for, it is the chain's policy to honor the web-site price. (According to the manager of my local store...)

What does that site have?
Site has everything - and sometimes more - as far as equipment goes, than the regular chains. Check it out at here

How many times have you tried?
I've only tried once, and had no hassles.

Was it the manager's policy, the store's policy, or the chain's policy?
According to the manager of my local store, it is the chain's policy.

It's for anything that is both online and in the store. Petsmart.com is the virtual home for the chain. Corporate sets the prices for the website, the chains have to comply if you bring in a printout of the price from the website. :)

Hope this helps.

The store costs more because the overhead is so much higher.

It only works for petsmart.com.

Petco, big al's, ect. will not work.

Man! your not kidding. They have the Fluval 404 for 174.99 in the store and it's 106.99 on the site. Sweet!!!
