Lovely little tank - I'm sure your new Betta will love it! One suggestion - add more water, so the water line is closer to the top of the tank leave a bit of airspace so he can get some air though, of course!). Nice little Gourami too :)

Edit: Oh yeah, my Bettas love having something to hide in. I have short pieces (1.5 inches long?) of one inch wide PVC pipe for 'em. Little Terra Cotta flower pots work well too

cuuuute! I can't wait to see it with your new boy

I love taking pics of my fish too, isn't it fun!! And what makes it even better is sharing them :p

some of my bettas have terra cotta pots too, but they never get in them  ,they really like to hide themselves in thick plants

like the tank but isn;t that a bit much for just one betta? but I may be wrong I've never kept betta's before. BTW Lovely looking gourami looks just like mine.

Some Bettas like lots of space! Other don't. My vet said he put a Betta in his 55 gallon tank and it cowered in the corner wondering what on earth it was supposed to do with all that water! I have a Betta in my 10 gallon community tank and he's quite happy there. I recently had to take him out of the 10 gallon for awhile and place him in a dual Betta hex for a few days. He was *very* unhappy with me for daring to do such a thing. Silly fish :)
