hey guys and gals :)

i just bought a new tank on ebay :) its 60x24x32!!
should be here sometime next week.
holds just over 120 gallons and also has a 4 foot sump underneath.

cant wait to move my reef across and expand!

what kind of stocking levels will this size tank allow?

im going to be using mainly live rock but will keep my existing canistor, sterliser and lots of lights.
also got a nice delctec skimmer free with tank and loads more equipment.

so far in my reef i have 7 fish.
a foxface, 2 percs, a coral goby, 2 blue damsels and a pyjama cardinal.

any suggestions on what to add? bearing in mind this will be my "stunning" display reef in my living room!

I think Bens right I have a 60x30x24 and its just obver 150g

its 60 long 24 front to back and i think its 32 high. might be 28 but not 100% sure.
either way its huge and just want i wanted for my reef to go into :)

it arrived!

the tank is huge! but alas i think i need to either get a new stand or modify this one cos its a little bit iffy.

Nice!!

As to your original question....for a display tank you might look at a flame angel or coral beauty. But be careful I've heard differing reports as to whether they are actually "reef safe".

That's also probably big enough for a Tang.

If it has a good top....I'd look into a wrasse as well. There are some beautiful fish in the fairy and flasher families. The exquisite wrasse and mccosker's are my two favorite.

Just my 2 cents.

Great tank pal

I;d have a moray , lionfish and grouper in there lol :good:

i have a price on a new stand for it now, so thats a start lol

once i have that i need a return pump to the tank from sump and then i need to fill it.
actually, cleaning it first would be a good idea lol.

once filled with RO water mixed with kent marine salt, ill get it up to temp and then add some new live rock.
i need quite a lot of it to fill this tank so its going to end up being like ayear long project lol.
i cant put any of my existing corals in there until i have enough live rock or grotto rock because the T5 lighting wont reach the bottom

so, once ive got the rock (about £400 worth) then i can add my existing corals and fish.

phew

after all that is done, by april i hope, ill then add some new fish. thinking of flame angel or lemon peel angel. some type of bright tang, was looking at sailfin but not sure on reef safe or not. also looking at a fuzzy dwrf lion and maybe some blue stripe chrmis that my lfs has at the mo.

how many fish will i be able to add do you think?
ill have the sump, the external canistor thats been running for a year already, a large UV sterilser, lots of internal koralias for massive flow everywhere and hopefully a skimmer aswell.

The tank is:
Width: 60" (152.4cm)
Height: 24" (60.96cm)
Depth: 24" (60.96cm)
the tank's volume is approximately 34,560.0 cubic inches or 149.6 U.S. gallons, which is approximately 582.0 liters.

the sump is a 36x15x18 with multiple compartments for different media. so do i also include the sumps volume in stocking?
the sump works out at:
Width: 36" (91.44cm)
Height: 18" (45.72cm)
Depth: 15" (38.1cm)
the tank's volume is approximately 9,720.0 cubic inches or 42.1 U.S. gallons, which is approximately 163.7 liters.

so in total its roughly 191 us gallons. whoa thats a lot of water!! and weight! oh well, itll be fine :)

so yeah, im basically asking how many more fish can i add to this tank?
i intend on adding LOTS more soft corals and live rock and mushrooms etc. so i dont want lots of fish anyways.

thanks in advance
