hi everyone. my new tank finaly arrived that i had made to order. i asked them to include glass sliders wich were like £18. the thing thats worrying me is the tank was getting built into the wall and they have mounted the glass that holds the sliders about 1-2" from the top of the tank. so im going to have to cover that part of the tank up to make it look neat. or i scrap the wall idea and have a cabinet made? here is a photo so you can see what i mean. i thought the sliders would be at the very brim of the tank

That's right, it's because you don't have any front trim to cover the glass support bars/struts. If it sat on top, what would stop the glass covers from sliding past the end of the tank?

i suppose i could mount it flush in the wall as i had planned and then maybe put some sort of trim around the whole tank that would hide the glass sliders and bars. i take it the bars would have been there even if i had no sliders, what i mean is are they supports?

Yes, they are needed to stop the glass from bowing under the water pressure. I think adding a trim is the best solution - most tanks come with one for exactly the reason we have discussed.
