Patti and I are doing most of our house in an old nautical theme. The other day we were at an old "antique" rummage sale. We bought three old sea chests. One of them is quite large and she put some open end barrells on them and we put bottles of wine in them. The other two are going to be a fish stand. They are the same size, but one has a flat lid and the other has a rounded type top. So I am going to stack them and build an internal frame to put the tank on, and rehinge the top with lighting in it. Should look pretty cool. It is the perfect size for my 29 gallon tank.

there is a lfs by me that has a tank like that made out of wood. if you like i could run up there and take some digi pics for you and send them to you to get some ideas. theirs is made out of wood.

Maggie, I saw one like you are describing in Lansing once, that is what gave us the idea. Thanks for the offer, but kinda have it figured out. Just have to get the time to do it now... B)

hey GL! just saw some stuff at the toy store that maybe you could use for your treasure chest. in the dress up department they have all kinds of cheap jewelry. sometimes the jewelry is painted beads but if you coat it in an acrylic resin, it would be safe to put in the tank without it peeling.

i did a setup for my mother in law. she has all of this carnival glass that she wanted to display but did not want to get broken or have everyone handling. so i arranged it in their 90 in wall and it looks really pretty. now everyone can see it but who is going to stick their hand in their to look at it?
