My New Pleco

Ok well a week ago i bought two Butterfly Pleco's One died during the night (i think it was ill when they sold it to me) and the other is going strong.
Edit: We took the dead pleco back to the store and they exchanged him for a new one, so hopefully this one will survive the night like his sister.

They sold me some algae tablets to feed them, but i've noticed that they dont eat them. I also done some research and found out that they were nocturnal which the person in the shop obviously forgot to mention (sighs). So i started to feed it at night time before i go to bed, but when i watch it, it still doesnt eat it, and by the time the tablet has broken up the moors have eaten it.


So i've also bought some alage wafers for i think they came to £7... Which was more than the pleco... So im hoping they will like these more.



Any suggestions on what to feed my butterfly pleco and when?

give them time when introducing new food into the tank mine took a few days to actually notice the food now they carnt get enough of it

They havent delievered the wafers yet, so ive only been feeding them the tablets, which the guy at the store said they use, so i assume they should know what it is. Im just worried im not doing it right.


I've not cleaned the glass as it seems its the only thing they eat, so i've been letting the algae grow.. Is this the right thing todo? or should i start cleaning the glass again.
