My New Gecko

Ok so i emptied my 20 gallon, and cleaned it up, decided i dont wana put fish in it, sooo i went out with me mum today to look at snakes, and tarantulas

Whilst I was looking i came across this really unusual looking gecko, gorgeous thing he was, so i was allowed to hold him and what not, soon as he looked at me with his huge eyes I was sold lol

I looked at a baby snow leopard gecko too, but he was sooo tiny, and made a run for it, I was scared of losing him, so I decided I deffo had to have the other gecko

Nearly fell over when they told me how much he was lol, but he just stared at me with those huuuuge eyes, and i brought him home with me

Hes a barking gecko, gorgeous thing, wierd looking tail lol

Will get some pics once hes settled in, dont wana go scaring the lil fella, hes called Louis btw, my other half named him after the gecko from the budweiser ads tut

neither have I, the chap in the shop said theyre no longer allowed to import these lil guys in, shame

and he wags his tail stalking crickets, like my last gecko did, sooo funny

Very nice gecko and a lovely example of a barking gecko. Its possible he has a regenerated tail which im sure as you know is when they drop it and it grows back although its a nice grow back if it is. My male geckos do the wag tail thing when they go for crickets too lol

yeah it looks like a regrowth, will get a pic n show you

its funny the way they wag their tails tho, as if to intimidate their food lol

Id love to use that substrate in my tank, but ive been told i gotta use top soil and sand, so he can burrow

is that a real plant in there?

I want to use some real plants in mine, any suggestions?

well if your using top soil then pretty much anything do some research on what would grow in his natural habitat and plant some of those...
yea thats a real plant its whats called an "air plant" dont put down any roots

Very different to leos and fat tails, theyre not big eaters lol
