After 7 days of travel, my boys made it to me safely. I have some pics, but they aren't the greatest. The 10G has lots of bubbles still, I hadn't had a chance to fill it with water until today. My beautiful marble is in a temporary home until tomorrow. I am going to get him a new home tomorrow. So please excuse the bad quality, I just want to share my new beauties(and reassure Wuv they are ok  )

I have yet to think of names, my brain is kind of addled right now. I am getting married on Thursday, so to say I am stressed is an understatement :S

I had my hubby to be float the bags for a couple of hours before I got home from work. I then started adding tank water to the bags to get them acclimated. By the time I got home their water was the same temp, but I was worried about ph differences so I went pretty slowly. They all seemed a little dazed to be in such large spaces with lots of light, so they laid at the bottom of their tanks almost on their sides after I put them in. I was terrified I had killed them all :/ .

I left my bedroom and office alone in the semi darkness for about an hour. I came into my office to find my green plakat swimming around happily, and my marble slowly meandering around his tank looking for food. I gave them each 2 pellets, which they happily accepted. I went into my room to find my DT plakat and my orange plakat swimming around happily as well. They both ate 2 pellets as well. Phew....They really are ok. I can't believe today is here.

Ok Ok enough rambling... It's picture time!

So to start, the green plakat. His decor is kind of tacky, and will change tomorrow when I buy some live plants.

Next, my orange Girl. She has lost a touch of his colour. She was much more orange when I got her. I think the light stressed her out a touch. I hope you can see her through the bubbles :X (edited to change sex, shoulda gone with my instinct)

This one some of you have probably already seen, he was in the adoption thread, and the fish that started it all

Look at those purple scales, they are so adorable

And finally, the marble. He is so darn pretty, he needs a better tank. I fell in love with him the minute I saw his picture

I will post better pics later, when the tanks aren't so new looking and when I can get my marble into a better home.

Considering they didn't eat for a week, they look pretty good. Their water was pretty clear too. I am sure they will enjoy their bloodworms tomorrow.

awesome, and not a scratch on them!
Tell them they did a great job  So proud
*by the way, I hope this is okay but betta #2 is a female, sister to both red boys  She was the last jarred girl and she wanted to go :look:

I thought she was a girl, but I wasn't sure. I haven't had a close look yet for the oviposter. What a big girl. She can stay in the divided tank, she is WAY bigger than all my other girls. Still beautiful no matter the sex.

I think it might be time for YOU to try your hand at breeding - red girly with marble boy maybe?! JK...
But hey...i'll take a marble if you decide to - after the wedding of course

I'll never have time to breed. I can just see it now:

Get up at 6, go to work, come home at 5 and clean tanks/jars/etc...till bedtime. I just can't do it. When would I eat or play with my daughter?

I have no trouble getting my angels to breed. They lay eggs every week. It is a great treat for all the other fish in the tank :)

I am considering getting rid of all my bowls and getting divided tanks. That way I can cycle them and do less water changes. Hubby doesn't like the idea of 2 fish in a 10g, but there is no way I am going to add any other fish to it. Maybe a frog or 2.

EDITED TO ADD:

Of course if YOU want to do all the work you can come breed my bettas. I still like the eye candy idea without the water changes. I have an empty hallway that could hold a couple of shelves and lotsa betta jars.

in a 10 gallon you could get away with 4 bettas. That would give each 2.5 gal to each section.

That marble is beautiful.

Simple! Get a kiddie pool, put the babis in there, bung your daughter in one of those floaty seats, attach an automatic feeder to her back and off you go :) And hey, who needs to eat?

Glade they got there alright! I get three new babies in the mail today ( they were just shipped yesterday) and I know what it feels like to wait...its horrid! haha but they are all really cute...the first one is adorable :)

Hmm . . . I can see that working . . . a sort of betta-breeding syndicate . . . now that has possibilities! :hey: Any room for a partner?

Tragically, the two of you are probably too far West for me to have a hand in the breeding end of it, but I could hop on board in the Adoptions department, or similar- advertising, and all. Everybody in University wants something flashy and simple to care for :p

*scoots off to design letterhead*

Oh dear  I shouldn't be allowed online when I'm dead tired, bored at work and hopped up on antihistamines ;)

I was going to divide the 10G 5 ways originally, 4 compartments for fish and 1 for the filter and heater. I know they would have the space, I personally didn't like the way it looked. If the tank was longer I probably would have done it
