Hi All,

After ages and ages of planning I finally got my tank, a planted Fluval Vicenza 180 - Just going through and hopefully finishing its cycle and so its not stocked - Think I am going to go for a mainly Tetra tank but not 100% yet.

Just wondered what everyone thinks...

Moon Lights - Full Tank (The lights do appear dimmer in the room, the camera seems to make it look brighter)
Another Moon Light Shot....

if there is anything you can see wrong or something that might not be quite ok - please tell me =) (I need all the help I can get). I dont mind criticism

Anyone have any stocking ideas, wanted mainly different types of Tetra, A couple of bristlenoses - but am open to all suggestions!

Cheers,

Craig

Thanks :)

Honestly... Its my first tank - loved fish tanks since I was little as my grandparents used to have a couple of tanks, I have been researching for nearly a year now and wanted to know as much as possible before getting started as I didnt have the room to put the tank I wanted - Finally got the room to have a tank so began to set it up! - Not using Co2 yet although planning to use the Nutrafin Biological one to begin with and see how that goes as I cant afford a compressed Co2 setup yet.

Dont think it would have been possible without this forum tho! (I've asked lots and lots of Q's lol)

Amazing! :hyper:

Hm.. for the stocking i would go with:

a shoal of 6 cories
5 otos
a shoal of 10 neons
a bulldog or BN plec
a shoal of 10 glowlight tetras?

Would look really cool

Oscars... Yeah, Oscars. They'd keep the plants nice and tidy.

Oooh do I sound envious?

Blood nice tank, there. It would look lovely with what Esfa said.
Keep us updated.

Not bad, just a pity you have a few non aquatic plants in it which will eventually rot :(

(the ferns)

:S I thought that maybe the case about the furns when I read more on them after, (Which ones will rot, there is that kind of cabage looking one in the middle, will that be ok ? its growing almost 2 stalks out of it heading towards the light, anyone have any ideas what this is?)

I was sold the furns as aquatic plants though :(. Thinking of replacing them, maybe with a small ricia carpet ? but will wait till I get my Co2 for that I think

Is there any chance the ferns will survive or anyway I can help them - think they look pretty good

lovley tank...looks very proffesionaly done!

now stocking a tank is always fun, if i had that i would put angels in it. maybe 4 black ones.

but if you like shoaling fish then 10 neon tetra, especialy with the moonlights on at night. that would look stunning! and then say 6 black skirts, active fish, nice to look at. and maybe 4 corys...bronze ones! one bulldog pleco.

ok, been thinking about stocking this weekend, been looking around my lfs too... what about...

5x Pentazona Barb
5x Red Phantom Tetra
5x Black Phatnom Tetra (was told these would shoal with the red ones)
10 - 15 Neon Tetra
3 - 4 Peppered Corys
2x Bristlenose Plecs

Is that too much for the tank? or would there be a little space more for the odd couple of more fish as I really love the Kribs too but down want to overstock... going to start slowly now its finished cycling, added the 5 Pentazona Barb and 5 Red Phantoms today, all are so far... doing well and the shyness have gone and they started to explore!
