I just found out that my red spotted nerita snail is a female, and there were no problem with that..Untill she laid eggs EVERYWHERE in my new planted aquarium •_• Even worse, they are really difficult to remove (some of them wont come off) and she never stops laying eggs (there is no other snails in the tank, so the eggs are infertile) Can someone please help me? How do i remove the eggs? And is there something i can do to make her stop?

Here are some pictures:

I have exactly the same issue at the moment, I scrubbed some off my glass while doing a water change but they take a very good hold!

Good old blade scraper or a credit card will do, buy yeah, it takes work.

A loose stanley blade, held at an angle against the glass, is the only way I ever found to remove them. Fine for scraping them off glass, but the driftwood my snail laid them all over didn't survive the stanley blade treatment.

No way to stop them either, I'm sorry! But it's the main reason I won't get a nerite again and wasn't too upset when mine passed on. At least yours is a pretty one?

I haven’t thought about a blade to scrape it off.. i’ll try to use that for sure. Kind of a bummer that there is nothing to do with the problem D:

You can remove them with your fingernails, an algae remover, or a straight razor blade.

And is there something i can do to make her stop?
Sadly no. Females lay hundreds of eggs in a month. Some people are lucky enough to get male Nerites, but that’s rare. 🥲
