About a year ago i kept neons. They were stunning, but they kept getting diseases every 2 weeks. Ich, velvet and so on. Once I had a fata outbreak and out of my ten neons, only ONE survived. But his behaviour was amazing.
Just after all other neons had died, he was acting reaally down. Not taking food and sitting at the bottom of the fish bowl.(Im not permitted to have a tank).By this time I had moved on to guppies and thought, well perhaps after Im used to having gups Ill go to cardinal tetras. My only female gup gave birth about 2 months earlier and when a whole load of gups came in, what happened was crazy. The neon started to go around with the guppies as if they were neons. And it seemed that the male guppies were starting act like a shoal of neons. The males treated the neon as a friend and did not bite his rear end or what. Sad to say a sudden outbreak of disease killed the neon with my 1st gen female
