My Monster Apple Snail

i'm sure this is not the biggest apple snail out there, but it's the biggest i seen and so i had to have it when i saw it at the LFS...only paid regular price for it, something like $1.89 for it or something

i dont know how to measure a snail, but i put a ruler under it for that picture and it easily covered the area of about 1.5" side to side. i have another 3 apples and have had another 10 or so in the past, and this one is by far the biggest...

for comparison, here's my 2" angel checking it out:

provided it doesnt die, how big can i expect this thing to grow?

If it's a bridgesii then it's already at it's maximum size of 1.5". If it is a giant apple snail though these get to about 2.5" but also eat plants.

i dont know which is which, but i know i had one of those that eats plants, and this one isn't it. i know because i bought this snail from PetSmart, where i've bought 90% of my apple snails and none of those have ever eaten my plants. the one time i bought an "apple snail" from a private LFS, it turned up being that different type that eats plants and devoured about 3 plants before i realized what was happening and removed it...

Look like a brig wild form and probably at full size. Canas are the big kinds, I seen one in the lfs the other day the size of a baseball.
