If you've been following my thread about the green masked halfmoon pair who came in the mail yesterday, you'll know I thought the female died. She was upside down on her back, not breathing (I was about an inch from her checking), and when I poked her she didn't react at all. I was too sad to even remove her, and then got busy so didn't check in that tank until early this afternoon. Know what I found?!
A right side up female, swimming!!!
Even when she was right side up yesterday, she was resting on the bottom and would list to the side. Now she's hanging out in the middle of the water though.
I refuse to get too excited, but as she is still alive as I write this, I have a little bit of hope now. She was just so sick yesterday that I don't know if I expect her to survive now. It would be one amazing miracle. Already I consider her a miracle, even for surviving those few hours, and the night.
She's a tough fish. I'm so attached already.

I was certain it was dead. Looked at a few different times and it was always in the same spot (hadn't had time to remove it). Later on, it was swimming around, normal and healthy as can be. Silly little fishy...

As of oh, 3:00 she had clamped fins, but was moving around and doing better. Julie has her in a good mix of meds/treatments, so she should come around
