I have a really cute guppy , he's only about 4 months old nearlly fully grown and has loverly bright colours in him , can't wait till he starts breeding with the females but you see thats what the problem is he only mates with the young mollys , swims past the girly guppys dosen't want anything to do with them , will he grow out of it or will he try it with the mollys for life :( :/

He might just be a horny fish and try to hump anything he can get to!

If you can (and I know not everyone is willing to do this) you could get a separate tank and put him and a few female guppies in there to see how he does. You could even use the tank as a breeder tank afterwards.

hi guppymonkey i wish i could get another tank but a i have no room at the mo , its just real strange that he's doing this , all my fish have tryed it on with differant fish but then sorted them selfs out but my little guppy hasn't he's at it as i type lol , i do feel sorry for the female mollys as they have 6 males and a guppy trying to breed at one time .

My male guppies are doing that too: trying to mate with my green swordtails. My only question is will there ever be hybrids? (even with mollies and swordtails)
