In Lincoln, where i live is a place called Whisby garden centre. If anyone who lives close by, go and take a look at the place.
As well as garded stuff they also sell tropical fish and things to go with them etc.
well me and my husband were in there a few days ago, when i saw a tank with newts in. With a filter. To my amaisment, they were both alive but had no legs, you could see the bone sticking out of there sides. They were just floating around the tank to wherever the currant takes them. There was anotherone that had both legs on one side stuck in the filter, that had obviously chopped them off from inside. I think this one was dead.
I really wanted to cry for them and i am unsure what to do. this isnt the first time i have felt like this with this place. it is pretty bad.
Any ideas?

Dawney- This really out to be reported to the RSPCA.

On the bright side, if these newts were axalotls, then they may well re-grow the damaged limbs (if they avoid infection)

I aggree with Sir M

Great Crested Newts and the law.
It is illegal to kill, injure, capture or possess these newts or to damage their habitats or carry out any trade in the species.
