Well, we took a few months off of fostering, needed a little break. But we fell in love with this guy while doing our weekend volunteering of taking the dogs out for outings. We actually wanted to adopt him but we have since decided we're not his perfect forever home. But we're a better place for him than the kennels so we'll hold on to him until his forever family comes along, much to our current pets' chagrin.

His name is Tango, he's a queensland heeler mix.

Here's his profile if you're interested:

awwww, he is soooo cute!!! Do you foster/adopt often? I would love to get involved in something like that, I bet its so rewarding.

Thanks guys, he really is a doll, such a love.

Jen, we volunteer on the weekends to walk the dogs that are in our kennels, to take them on outings to get socialized and to get public exposure. We are a virtual kennel, we don't have a location of our own (we rent kennel space for some dogs, the rest of the dogs are in foster care). And we foster every few months. It is very rewarding. Hard to let them go sometimes, but you still feel good about it every time.

He's beautiful!

His profile reminds me of my dog. I had to laugh at his activity level.
"Moderate" :sly: Yeah, right! :lol:

He's about the same age as my Cattle Dog was, when I adopted him. I bet he's VERY clever. :teacher: :wizard:

Here's where I got my baby at:

Um, yeah, that profile was written shortly after he was pulled from the pound. Think that needs to be changed. He is one active dog. But thats what we love about him! And yes, he is VERY clever, a little too clever some days..... ;) He is such a quick learner though.

Comet, does your cattledog "herd" you at all? Tango is always "herding" us and the cats and the other dog. Strangest feeling to walk through the house with this dog nipping your ankles. I always knew cattle dogs did that, but I'd never actually experienced with any of the cattle dogs we've had in our system. Or when he takes his wet slimy stuffed squeaky toy and presses in to the back of your knee. Gotta love those crazy canines.

He is a very cute dog  . I thought about fostering animals but I wouldn't be good for it. I wouldn't be able to give them up so now I just volunteer at a shelter. It's quite fun interacting with all the animals there.

He tries to herd the other dogs at the dog park, but he also love to be chased.

The only time he really tries to herd me, is when there's no other dogs at our dog park (Wiggly Field).

He loves to wrestle with other dogs, but he sometimes cheats by pulling them down by their ears. :sly:

Does yours bark?
Mine almost never barks, all though he was barking non-stop when he was caged at the shelter.

I'm already referring to Tango as "yours".
Any chance you'll keep him? :shifty:

If I had a bigger place, I'd adopt another ACD in a heartbeat.
