Hello,

Following a post I made recently about whether my female would be happier with a male around (the other male died a couple of days after getting them) I got a male a week ago. He is a little smaller that her but not much in terms of length (the other male was 3x bigger than her).

Anyway, I don't think she likes him. I don't want them to breed or anything so that's not the issue but she doesn't let him anywhere near her and if she's swimming by him she'll chase him away. She has also been a bit touchy with the SFF and goes out of her way to chase them, becoming a right nasty piece of work abeit a beautiful one!

Will this be stressing Mr K. out?

Thanks

:fish: They will probably settle down when he is bigger than her :D , female kribs are the ones that initiate breeding and they choose the biggest fish they can find, then they start a fight with him if he stands up to her then he's the one. :D
You should always buy a male that is as big as the female or larger if possible :D

They were only in the same tank for a few days. Although they did swim around together.

I hope poor Mr. K is going to be alright.

Thanks for the replies.

I assume he has places to hide? If so, then he should be alright since your tank is a big one. I'd guess the female will calm down eventually, at least once he grows bigger than her.

Yeah, there's lots of hiding places. He never actively seems to hide away which is good.
