Okay, i talked ot my friend today, and he offerd me some of his breeding stock of yellow labs ( very very beautiful) for free! But, to keep them, i could either put them in a 20 g ( where i have some newly aqcuired guppies, which are hard to find in this good quality around here), and in my 30g, i have 2 angels, 1 cockatoo apistogramma, 7 mollies, 4 platies, and 1 swordtail. So, to keep Labs in there, i would need to empty that tank. I have always wanted some Yellow labs, but i dont know what to do! DECIDE FOR ME!

P.S. My ph is better suited for Africans anyway resting at 8.4

I WOULD PLACED THEM IN THE 30 G. BECAUSE IN THE 20G THYE WOULD EAT YOUR GUPPIES

angels shouldnt be kept at 8.4 and malawis should be on their own and not with any other fish!

it doesn't really matter for fish in the fish trade these days because they've been captive bred so much, they can be as tough as goldfish (bit of an over exaggeration but your get the picture) lol especially angels.
i'd put the africans in the 30 gallon because 20 gallon just seems too small in my opinion. the 30 gallon is a little too small as well but you could have about 8-10 cichlids in there.

Why? Loose the caps :p, and a yellow lab couldnt eat a guppy, maybe a guppy fry but not a grown guppy, they wouldnt eat it they would just kill it, Personally id go with the 30g as 20g is too small for labs :good:

yeah, im trying to replace my other 10g and get a 20 or 30, but im broke. I was planning on moving the guppies obviously, and the angels are doing fine. They are kept at the ph they were raised in. Or they wouldnt be alive, obviously

also, the 20g has quite a bit of high and room at the bottom, its a flat hexagon. Very cool tank.

Why not find another 10g or 15g because you could probably get a reasonably priced 2nd hand one or something then you could move how ever many fish as possible from your 30g into it then put the labs in your 30g

You have to get the labs to.. they are beautiful and you'll never get the chance to get free ones again.. thats for sure!

thanks. I really dont want to rid of my angels, but i dont think i can find a tank tall enough for them. There still growing there about 6 inches tall apiece, and 1 is a long finned variety). My lfs might be selling all there used fishtanks, but they arent sure.

Just keep asking around.. you'll find one eventually!

Your going to be looking at a tank around 45-55cm high really if not more arn't you

I hope you don't end yup getting rid of your angles, I used to have one which was black and gold, it was about 6" high too.

im not good with cm's, but im looking for at least 14-16 inches tall. Prefferably 18 inches or higher. If i keep the angels, and my cockatoo's, and my mollies, i will be happy, but im not sure i could fit all those guys in a 20g tank w/o severly over stocking it. I would use a sponge filter.

EDIT: Mislabeld the hieght!

BUt, do you think, 2 angels, 7 mollies, and 1 Apistogramma Ccockatoo is too much for alittle 20g?

Awww, i do know the guy told me i can ge tthe labs anytime i want, he said he'lla lways keep them, but i just need to plan ahead, obviously, im going to see what i can guy at the lfs first, and then decide what to do.
