My Guppy Has Given Birth !

we have been waiting for a while now for one of our guppies to give birth. She had 35 fry which is the most i have ever had !
Why does it vary so much how many they have ?? is it water conditions , food etc ? Or just pot luck ?

Many factors affect the amount. The main factors are though :

Age
Size
Food
Water quality
Stress levels
Other fish

i find the size of the fry as well, i have found 1 of my females has larger fry so therefore only has 10 at the most whereas the others have smaller fry and 20-30 fry, i have found the bigger fry to survive better
