over the past few days, i've noticed my girl, pie eyeing my betta polo. she'd just stare at him constantly. so i desided to take her out of the tank, put her in a gallon tank, and set it right next to polo, where ever polo went, pie followed, but he alwasys ignored her. what should i do?

it may seem blue in the picture, but he's actually a very pretty light violet.

Don't breed unless you condition them and have adequit housing for the fry (grow out tanks, jars/beanie boxes, etc) Also, it is hard to see from the pics, but it liiks like they are both VT, and you wil have about 500 VT babies. Of course the fish want to breed, it is animal instinct. Fish care about eating, surviving, and breeding. That is what they do. I'll stop lecturing now.

He is a VT isnt he. If thats so take her out. What are you going to do with 100+ vt fry. Do you have all the tanks you need to seporate them and grow them out. Do you have viniger eels or such to feed the fry. Really If you dont take her out your gonna have a problem. And actaully shes not that intrested cause she isnt even full of eggs. And she also has vertical line which signifies shes scared just take her out.

Nothing.
Betta breeding isn't something you can decide to do on the spur of the moment. Just because they are eager to breed doesn't mean they should be allowed to do so when you are not the slightest bit prepared.

Indeed. Betta breeding is something only dared by those who have a ton of extra time, money, and knowlege.

i'd have to say that she really doesn't look interested in breeding per se; vertical bars are the sign for that and she's displaying horizontal.

i vote that you return her to the tank she's accustomed to.
