Help! My ghost knife fish has something strange dangling from his chin. We have not seen it get hurt by anything and we do water changes weekly. Just tested the waters yesterday. Any ideas?? I have more pics and a video that I couldn’t attach

Help! Our ghost knife fish has something weird hanging from her chin, could be hurt? Idk
We haven’t seen anything attacking her, levels are all fine in the tank and we do water changes frequently.
I have a few pictures but couldn’t attach video.

Bump.
I dont know what it is, if maybe you can get a better photo?

Also, what size tank, other fish in the tank, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH, GH, KH? All of this info can be helpful.

Hopefully someone comes along and knows what this is

@Colin_T Any idea?

Can you clean the glass and get some better pictures?
I can't tell where the fish starts, let alone identify anything on it.

How long have you had the fish for?
How long has the fish had this issue?
What other symptoms are the fish showing?

How long has the tank been set up for?

How often do you do water changes and how much do you change?
Do you gravel clean the substrate when you do a water change?
Do you dechlorinate the new water before adding it to the tank?

What sort of filter do you have?
How often and how do you clean the filter?
What is the ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH (in numbers)?

Have you added anything new (fish, plants, wood, etc) to the tank in the 2 weeks before this started?
Do you add plant fertilisers, supplements or anything else to the tank?
Are there any other fishes in the tank?

What other fishes are in the tank?

bumping this when it's only been posted for a short time, /shakes head in disbelief :)

If one of the mods wants to merge this with the following link it would be appreciated. It's just a double post.

Sorry, didn't realize it was a double post.
Saw it was a health related problem post and was getting pushed down the list, but okay won't try to help posts get seen that need some priority.
Remind me why I decided to come back?

It's all good, double posts happen.

You can bump stuff that is 24 hours old if there hasn't been a response but there is no point bumping stuff that is new. Not everyone is on at the same time and you can bump it all you like, but it doesn't make me come online any sooner to answer it. :)

Your a glutton for punishment :)

I usually browse the forum using the "new posts" section, and when I saw the post it had been posted the day before for me with no response and it was a health one, so thats why I opted to bump as for me, it was posted a different day lol
My bad.
