ok so imagine a 36x15 inch tank and 18 high...

then....a quatre of it blocked off with glass....so half way up and half way accross if you get me? so the fish tank inside the tank is 9 high and the full 15 wide and 18 accross...

i want three quatres of it tropical...and i want a quatre of it cold water for my axolotl....

if i got thick enough glass would it keep the axolotls part at around 18 degrees c?

So what....less than 12" tank space for an axolotl....no way! They get 12" themselves...that'd be cruel!
You could probs get away with half and half...just

The best bet would be to have a glass/acrylic divider then a layer of polystyrene and then another glass/acrylic divider. This would do a much better job of insulation then just a thick sheet of glass.

Edit: Only just realised what it was for. Yes an Axolot does need at least a 2ft tank. Personally I wouldnt keep in anything smaller then a 3ftX2ft.

no...it would have 18x15 space...

i read it was ok to keep one axoltol in an 18inch tank...

i have a few in a 3ftx15 tank now and they dont even move much they all huddle up together in one corner all the time.

theyre all at least a few years old and the one i want to keep is 6 inches.

Yes 18 is ok...just you said it would receive a 1/4 of 36 inches to be for the axie..which is less than 12"
