My Fish Sitter

My neighbor 'fish sat' for me while I was supposed to be on vacation. (everyone in my family got sick, had to cancel). They hadn't been home so I couldn't get Sushi back. Well, I just got him back. His bloat is back, his tank is disgusting, and it looks like he has fin/tail rot AGAIN. I wrote them out a care sheet, explaining how to feed him so they wouldn't over feed him and basicly the general care of bettas. It's obviouse they didn't follow it at all. I told my mom I shouldn't leave him with the 'plant killers'.(On a past vacation they killed all of our plants when they were supposed to be watering them)

So, I guess I'll do a big water change tomorrow and get some of the food that they let sink to the bottom cleaned out. Put a little salt in and possibly start fin/tail rot medication. (Does that sound right? ) I'm not going to feed him tonight or tomorrow since his bloat is back.

I dont keep bettas so i wont comment much, but do you know thoise weelkly pill boxes old people etc put there pills in. Well buy one next time you go on holiday, and add food for evryday your are away to each day in the container. This way he would only get fed your desired amount for that day.

It sounds like they wont get to care for your fish anymore.

While looking in a fish magazine i saw a feeder that is motorized and you can set it to different timings and such for so many feeding s a day.

No idea how if that would work on a small tank but on a big tank should do the trick lol.
