Fish Crazy
Hi-
After you were all so supportive last week when my vt, Bettalicious, died (Thanks so much!) , though still grieving, went to the (usually) excellent lfs to bring home a new sweet betta buddy on Monday night and got my first crowntail male!!
He was the most active, healthy looking male there was--unfortunately in those little cups (which I complained about). My guy was at least in a glass globelike thing--probably so you could see his finnage! I was horrified to hear that they were sitting in plain tap water when I asked some questions re filtering!! AAnd told them so!
And what a sweet cutie he is!! I'll try to take some pix in the next week. He's kind of blackish with florescent type scales ofblues and greens. He has a little pointed snout-so cute!! Has been blowing a few bubbles, but doesn't spread his fins wide like a peacock very often--maybe I have too many plants?
MY ONLY QUESTION IS: THOUGH HE'S HEALTHY, HE'S VERY TINY COMPARED TO THE VT'S I'VE ALWAYS HAD! I guess he's about 2-2 1/2 inches long!!
IS THIS NORMAL FOR CROWNTAILS? OR PERHAPS HE'S A YOUNG ONE...
iI'd love to read up on crowntails if anyone has any good suggestions for books or links or websites!
I'm so happy---I still miss my little Bettalicious, but this new guy definitely helps fill that open space in my heart!!
Love,
