Have been wanting a betta for ages now but wanted to make sure that I could keep the likes of guppies and neons alive first before I got one. Went out looking for a nice red male today as this was the colour my son wanted.

First shop we went in had Crown tails! Was surprised to see them as we usually just get veil tails here in the UK. The first was a lovely pink one with red fins and the second was a denim blue with white fins. Unfortunately they both had white spot which I pointed out to the seller and he said he was treating them for it. So we passed on those but did notice in the female tank a beautiful pink female with red fins and a dark green/blue one with tourquoise (sp?) fins. think these are the usual females, not crown tails.

After visits to other shops and finding most of their males in quarantine we decided to go back for the 2 females. The pink one had gone :grr: (a breeder saw her and said it was the best female he'd seen for a while) but I did get the green/blue one :D

She's gorgeous  Very active and zooming around her temporary home. I have called her Roxy. Tried to get a photo of her but she's too fast! Just wanted to share with you all

mucho congrats on the new girl! she sounds lovely  i hope you can snap a pic someday.
best of luck with her, im sure she's very happy to be in her new home.

Congrats  Females are great. They have just as much gusto as the boys, without all of the finnage weighing them down. She sounds like a beaut
