Wow, i'm so excited <img src="http://www.fishforums.net/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/shout.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shout:" border="0" alt="shout.gif" /> My corys have finally made me very happy & given me some eggs.

I'm not sure who is the mummy though, as I have albino, peppered, bronze & panda in the tank.

They were on a piece of slate & were sticky, so I could just roll them off with my finger, does this mean they are fairly fresh? I will put the slate back in now & will watch for more.

I have popped them in a small tank with an airstone, temp is 23-24, is that ok for them?

Congrats!! :good:

Keeping everything they hatch out,i kept my cory eggs around 24 degrees so that should be fine :)

thanks guys :good: I lost one egg to fungus, but the other 2 look like they are almost ready to hatch, is about 7days a normal time?

I have three more eggs this morning, I think it is the peppered who are spawning. I've put these eggs into the hatching tank as well.

What have people found to be the best foods for the fry when they hatch? I have various worm cultures, some hikari first bites & some brine shrimp eggs I can hatch.

Hi karigupi :)

Congratulations! I would wait at least 24 hours for them to absorb their yolk sacs, and then start them off on Hikari First Bites. Microworms would work as well but I've been switching over to the First Bites. I like decapsulated brine shrimp eggs, but if you want to take the trouble of hatching regular ones, they are good to feed your fry too.

You will also want to do big water changes every day to rid the tank of uneaten food and the growth hormones they produce.

Please keep us up to date on their developments. :D

thank you, thats great, the first bites will be much easier than having to hatch BBS all the time.

I'm pleased to annouce the arrival of my first cory baby, I think its safe to say that mum & dad were the peppered, isnt he gorgeous??

Of all the fry i've ever seen, he is just the cutest  The second egg has just begun to hatch too.

how did you manage to get such a good pic?!?! congrats btw

Excellent pic, in time you will get around a 100-200 eggs sucessfully hatch, corys grow so quick too

Little update, they are both doing really well & the three new eggs are maturing fast, here is a pic today at 3 days old, so cute, looks like he has a teeny smilie mouth lol.
