i got a external fillter with my tank off of ebay and i went to set it up and the impella bounces up and down and evry time it hits the cover it stops for mini seconds and then starts againt. the problem is its not making enough suction to such up the water so i tryed a new impella and it worked slightly better but was still bouncing. both the magnets have worne away and it can hold it good enough so its not spinnig fast enough. but can u change the magnet that the moter runs coz ive alredy got a new impella and the magnets on thats alot better

Once that is done, suck the outlet for a few seconds until you hear running water inside the filter body. At that point, hang the outlet back on the tank and just wait for the unit to fill itself

At that point, hang the outlet back on the tank and just wait for the unit to fill itself If that does not work, take the unit apart and post pictures of each bit in turn around the motor unit, so we can see if there is any damaged/missing parts in there that are causing your issues.

It's fun trying to work out which is which when you cannot see the other end of the hose That's what I blame my hose rigging errors on anyway
