I've decided to permanently home my friends female betta, with me. I have named her Dolly, she has a right little personality. She likes to hide a lot, she was in a tank by herself but due to my VT's fin rot, she has gone into the community tank with a BN and tetras, whilst my VT is on his own.

Here are a few photos of her, please do excuse the tummy as she had just feasted on blood worm.

I have noticed she likes to rest, after a big meal. However, playing 'dead' has made me panic a couple of times!

Wow, that would freak me out seeing a betta like that. How many blood worms are you feeding at one time? should really only be 3-4 individual worms, otherwise they end up a little bloated

I use frozen blood worm and give a qtr of a cube, she shares the tank with 5 black neon tetras too. It's like watching a pack of savage dogs fighting for food :lol:

But she is a greedy thing, I even had to cut down the amount of betta flakes she gets, too.

sorry Beth, but i would plant those plants in the substrate or they will die. They need to root properly. You'll also see that Crypt flourish.

anyways the female looks good.

Oh, well they are halfway in :blush: Should I take the foam off the one that has it wrapped round the bottom?

yep, take them out of everything, until you just have the root.

those are good pics!

Thank you x

I took them out of the pots and defoamed one but the other 2 I can't seem to get them out of the foam. My mum is the green fingered one, she has said she'll be round tomorrow to show me how it's done :blush:

This is Polly, she has a unique line running along her back;

Easy names to remb and when/if I get anymore, I've still got names to branch out too i.e. holly etc :lol:

They all get all fine, at first Dolly was flaring at them, sort of chasing up behind but they took no notice. Polly is bigger than the other 2 and seems to be the Alpha but they all are fab together.

Although, feeding time it's like watching great white sharks attacking :crazy: they took out my BN's algae pellets, gone within a min :lol:

Wow they are very pretty... You going to breed from them or are they just pets. I have a bluefemales and a red and white one in my community tank :D

Eventually I would like to breed them but need to save money to get more tanks x
