My female bettas dont get along

Well I started with two bettas bibi and bubu bibi died a few days ago she was a ether halfmoon or lyretail. So then bubu was left alone so i saw on the internet that u could put many female bettas in one tank so i tried to and well i put them in first all they did was flare then they swam togethere i thought they were okay but then BOOM the start nipping eachother and stuff then they stop. Then again i tried to stop them but they kept going at eachother. But i dont get it at the store they had like 20 of them in a 10 gallon tank why cant mine get along oh yeah then after they started nipping they went up to surface and it look like they were fighting with there tails.


P.S bibi is a Halfmoon or lyretail and julie is a crowntail

Do you just have the two of them? In a one gallon tank?? That's not enough room for them IMO. If I were you, I would put them in a bigger tank, and add a couple more to keep the aggression down.

what i learned about female bettas is this... if you have 2.. the bigger will kill the smaller... if u have 3... the 2 biggest will team up kill the small one, then kill each other.... i heard getting 4 is a good number for female bettas... they can go 2 on 2 and shouldnt kill each other... ive never kept them together but when ive seen them at the store together theyre aways fighting and there are always dead ones.. good luck

FWG how many gallons do u suggest to keep the aggresion down.

I wouldn't keep them together in anything less than a 10, you can pick up a 10 gallon for around 8 bucks

I agree with wuv. Why not put them in your 55 gal tank? They should get along with everything you have in there.

or eat you channel catfish for dinner and put them in the 20g....

ill try but i did that with bibi and bubu and they just to be on the sides and back only and they didnt get any food. Also they just to chase eachother.
