Is it possible to keep two females and one male together?
because if i were to get some from my LFS they only sell as male and female pair.

Goedemorgen of goedeavond. Ik weet niet wanneer je dit leest...

Lovely female you have there and she looks healthy. Yes, it is absolutely possible to have a trio. I would even prefer it especially if you have a male that is very 'willing'. It gives the other female some time to breathe...

Thanks :D

I will see if i could get some, though its a little hard around here. Dont see them too often.

There are many breeders in Europe, and also in the Netherlands. I know a guy that can get you anything but he is based in Leeuwarden. A bit far maybe? Alternatively you can buy eggs and raise them yourself. Very rewarding and fun to do. Furthermore eggs are basically shipped all year round.

You can find killibreeders through killivis nederland. http://www.killifishnederland.nl/
Their next meeting is coming Saturday 17 in “De Twee Marken”, Trompplein 5, 3951 CR Maarn.

Good luck! :good:

That close :D but still a little far for me since i dont drive and all xD
If i were to raise the eggs, i dont think i have the space or time really, though i would love to give it ago.

I'll take alook on the site
I think thats too far for me D:

Space you don't need really. I started out with the eggs in some plastic butter containers and ended up with a 25 litre tank to raise the fry after they were about 1 cm long.

Time you need yes as they are to be fed several times a day in the first weeks, then you can slowly lower the frequency (just like with human babys :fun:).

Anyway if you are interested in the guy in Leeuwarden, let me know so I can give you his tel number and address. He owns a petshop by the way but his specialism is fish. Has been keeping fish for a long time himself. Next year when I am visiting he is going to get some fish for me; I only need to tell him some time ahead what I want.

Oh awesome okays XD

well if i do decide to get some eggs, i'll let you know. Since im going to need alot of help doing this. It would be my first time.

Gosh its been too long since i've been on here

But i finally got to the fish store yesturday, after finding out my favourite one has gone bankrupt.
But anyway, i got some food, and then i saw the aphyosemion australe golds, swimming around
and i just had to snatch the pair :D

i got them home, placed them into thier new habitat, then introduced the other female-who is like twice the size of them.
There hasn't been much aggression. just a little. but what striked my eyes was the male mated my older female right away

Now i currently have the 3 in a 25lt
is that too small..?
i have a 60lt hanging around, and i can set that up again, it was just the easiest thing to do, cause i didnt expect to come home with fish .

I could either sell of my guppies (some are only 2 months old and will be easy pray for my big girl) and put them in that 60lt
or just set up the other and have them in thier own tank.
The one with the guppies has cardinals and fire tetra, along with the BN pleco.

Gosh I love this girl so much
I just hope to breed her before her time comes...
I've had her almost a year
She is so friendly.
Shell follow me around my room, swim right up to the glass, bumping into it. And she also adores the camera. As soon as he ses it she swims right over and looks into the lens :)
I have a picture of her so close it lost focus, she was so close :)
