My Fantail Has A Bubble Around His Eye

Hi everyone,

I'm at work at the mo so apologize for the lack of tank information, which I will provide as soon as I can, but essentially my two year old fantail has developed a bubble around the outside of his eye. His eye looks like it is still in the correct position and isn't protruding, but this bubble of skin around the outside looks worrying. He is still eating, but not as much as usual. I watched him last night and he ate some food, them spat some of it out.

Can anyone give me any indication as to what's wrong with him, and whether it can be treated?

Hi Can you give us an idea of the size of the tank (in gallons, litres or size in inches), what your water parameters are (readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate) and your tank maintenance schedule? These will help us determine if water quality issues are the cause of the problem, which they often are for this condition (commonly called 'pop eye').
