I've just got 2 Sterbai cory's for Mother's day, which is tomorrow. I am really happy. :D I've wanted these for ages, and they are so friendly. They've investigated the tank, met the bronze and panda's and are now trying to get our attention. So gorgeous. ;)

Nice, i finally found one of these 2, only 1 though. They're still beautiful. His coloring looks a little faded, probably a little stressed out from the move. Just wait a few days when he settles.

There lovely.

Thanks. They are gorgeous and so active  . They are very flirty with the other cory's and as soon as the panda's saw them, they were stuck to them, doing the sexy dance and eventually the bronzes got really excited too  . As with the other cory's, they love blood worm. My bronzes are a bit friendly, the panda's, only 2 of them come close, but these two love attention and follow you around the room. Little show off's :D

Nice fish!

By the way, thank you for reminding me tomorrow's Mother's Day! Whew, that almost totally slipped by me.
EDIT: Or is it just Mother's Day in the UK?

Thanks everyone. I think Mothers Day in the USA is in May, isn't it? :) In South Africa it's in May, and they have it the same as America.

I wish they were breeding. I'm not sure if it was just a very warm welcome or if they are preparing themselves for breeding. They are all still swimming nicely together. It is so cute to watch them

Wish it was the T-position. No spawn, but they are very lovey dovey  and still swim around getting our attention. The pandas are still acting like they are their new best friends. Since putting them in the tank, the blue german rams have started showing signs of breeding and I think the minnows have spawned (obviously with the rams, there would be nothing left). But I am watching the corys closely so if they are spawning, I will remove eggs before the rams think it's another tasty treat  :D

Hi Bloozoo2

Mothers day is 14th May in SA.
:flowers: I only pay attention because I need to send cards to my mother and mother in law!! Hard to remember all these different holidays :D Thanks for looking at my new babies. They are super cute  Keep well.

They look really pretty and healthy! I just got 4 sterbai's myself today after searching for them for the past month! :)

All of my sterbai's have parts of their dorsal fin missing, I'm guessing they got nipped at or chewed off by the other fish in the tank they were in with at the LFS. They were in the same tank as oscars (cichlid) so hopefully they'll find comfort in their new home, as my tank has neons, cardinals and other bronze corys.

I am just wondering, if the dorsal fin will eventually grow back? Or is the damage permanent?

Thanks ey2006

We had a 2 month old bronze cory in a tank with our angels, and they nipped his dorsal fin while eating the catfish pellets on the bottom of the tank. I was really upset with them and this little cory hid under the logs away from them for a while. It did grow back and he's forgiven them and doesn't even seem bothered with them now. It was accidental, because they never touched any of the others. Obviously they'd eat smaller one's if they had the chance. We only had this bronze youngster in the tank, because I didn't find all the eggs from one of their spawn, but he is still alive and quite big now. :D : Congrats on getting your sterbai. They have to be the most beautiful of the cory's, well, my opinion anyway.
