Well I was checking out that other recent thread, and thought I could add what I did.

The blue piece is sold as a waterbed water filling kit. I think I couldnt find one in the UK, but I had it shipped from the US, it was pretty cheap if I remember correctly. Im sure you could find one here if you looked hard enough.
I think this is the same thing as the actual python kit. The kit came with some tap adaptors, but they wouldnt fit on my tap head here, so I just used a peice of leftover hose from a external filter, and its quite snug when slipped over the tap. Ive never had it come off. I originally didnt use the hose clamp, but after awhile, It was was a must.

The picture should illustrate what it all does.

I use a normal garden hose. Its works perfectly, and saves me lots of time with my 4 tanks!

Looks fantastic and I'd be very interested if you could PM me a link to the supplier for the "waterbed filling kit" as I live in Israel and have had no joy trying to find that type of connector here.

Hoselock do these connectors, they do the same thing as the water bed filling ones, it's just that you have to block one of the outlets off with a special adapter which is cheap enough when filling it up.

yeah you can do it with normal B&Q supplies, but it does take a bit more work getting all the different pieces and i think this was actually cheaper for me. I like that its all one piece, no guess work.

ill see if i can find who i bought it from.

well I see it cost me 20USD shipped so thats like 13£ or so. I am lucky enough to have a US shipping address (military) so I didnt have to pay anything extra for shipping. I bought it off Amazon.com "Waterbed Mattress Fill & Drain Kit"

the hozelock tap connector is around 6-7£ by itself, that y connector u linked is 5£ at B&Q.

U can get a 3 way connector (hozelock compatable) for 99p delivered off the auction site. I made my diy python for around £15 including the see through hose and all the (hozelock compatable) connectors. Bargain, saves my back with all those buckets. :hyper:
