I have a family here of painted wood turtles who are my pride & joy.
I got this nice pic of Suzie and Steve. Suzie is the front one, she is a sub-adult and Steve who is very special.
This is Donatello, he is my daddy turtle.
Me petting Raphael, he's a real outgoing guy! He came with Suzie, he's a mature male but still a kid like Suzie.
This is the youngest, Squirt attacking a worm! Squirt should be about 6 mos now.
My first hatchling, Steve- Steve's special, he was named before he was born; when Steve Irwin died, I immediately named my incubating turtle as a sort of tribute to him.
Okay, cuteness abounds, I'm gonna keep these their original size cos of how tiny the babies are:
This is Leonardo, he lives with a friend now who traded a Spotted turtle (I'll post a pic of her)
Here he is, 1-6-07 is his official birthday!
I Love how momma Jessie sleeps..she really sleeps well!
One of my favorite pics of Donnie sleeping. This was years ago when they were in a smaller tank andwater tub..Jessie's in the fore ground. This was like 1am!
This is a guy I miss alot, this is my original Raphael at about 1.5 yrs old and just starting to show his male turtle stuff, but you can't see his claws cause they got stuck in the rug. He lives not too far in a family's pond with like 21 others like him. I don't have what he needs to live here so I adopted him and 2 others out, my 4th dissapeared and I never saw him again.
Leo and his brother (or sis, dunno, too young to tell!) were traded to another turtle breeder for this little spotted girl, Spot. My hubby named her, soooo original... *eyeroll*
And she has a roomie, Cody, who is a Reeves Turtle. He was 1" when I got him, now he's 2" - he'll max out around 4-5":
A rescue. my first rescue turtle. I named her notch for the dented in shell on her side. She was kept in a smelly poorly filtered tank and fed wrong, and I assume she had no UVB lighting at all. It's vital a turtle has UVB more than any other lights. She had shell rot and smelled so bad. She's in a pond now, outside and her infections gone. She was a perfect example why you don't ever want a red ear slider. She's huge, she's a biter and she's got a nasty temper. Not a good pet.
I'll stop boring you all... heheee
